The information security service of the Yandex Food service revealed a leak of customer data, the company’s press service reports.
“As a result of the unfair actions of one of the employees, the phone numbers of customers and information about their orders were published on the Internet: composition, delivery time, and so on,” the message says.
At the same time, the data leak did not affect the banking, payment and registration data of users. Service representatives apologize to their users and intend to send a letter with details to everyone affected by the leak. The service also conducted an internal review and tightened the approach to storing information.
“Manual processing of such data will be eliminated, and the number of employees who have access to information about orders will be reduced by at least three times. Measures established by law will be taken against the employee responsible for the leak,” Yandex Food reported.
The service also turned to law enforcement agencies with a statement about unauthorized access to customer data.
