The Central District Attorney’s Office today (Sunday) filed an indictment in the Central District Court against 17 defendants for offenses of attempting to carry out an arms transaction, attempting to trade in drugs and possession of a weapon. The main defendant, 29-year-old Ibrahim Abu Jaber, from Kfar Qassem, promoted arms and drug deals for a year through correspondence on the WhatsApp app with the other defendants, one of them a Palestinian, a resident of Nablus, while sending photos and quotes.

The indictment, filed by Adv. Hila Cohen Kadosh, states that starting in February 2021 and for about a year, defendant Abu Jaber promoted arms deals through WhatsApp correspondence, with the aim of selling pistols, improvised submachine guns, Carlo grenades, to others in Israeli territory. , M16 and Kalashnikov rifles and more, in the amounts of tens of thousands of shekels for each transaction.Also, he tried to trade in dangerous drugs including cannabis, cannabis and MDMA.

Abu Jaber used to send messages to the various defendants containing pictures of the weapons and drugs he offered for sale, negotiated with them about the price and even from time to time attached videos documenting the goods he offered.

The defendants were charged with the offenses of attempting to carry out another transaction in arms, attempting to trade in drugs, carrying weapons, trafficking in arms and unlawful possession of weapons, each according to his share. In his request for an extension of detention, Adv. Cohen Kadosh stated: “These are weapons offenses and mainly attempts to trade weapons on a large scale. “Offenses committed with firearms have become a scourge of the state and take a heavy toll on the soul.”
