IND vs NZ | Guptill ‘King’ surpasses Kohli; Leading the run chase in the International T20

by time news
New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill becomes the highest run scorer in T20 internationals. Guptill topped the T20I run chase in the second T20I match between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ). Guptill topped the list, overtaking India’s Virat Kohli.

Guptill overtook Kohli to top the list with 11 runs in Ranchi. Kohli is not playing in the series. Guptill overtook Kohli early in the match in Ranchi. Guptill broke Kohli’s record by hitting two consecutive fours against Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the third over of the match. Gupta reached this milestone with the accompaniment of luck. With just eight runs to spare, Indian batsman Rahul missed the opportunity given to Gupta. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the batsman struck 31 off 15 balls with three fours and two sixes. In the second match too, Deepak Chahar was dismissed for a wicket. The wicket-keeper caught the ball off Chahar’s ball and the batsman returned.

Guptill now has 3248 runs from 111 matches in the International T20. The Kiwis batter has scored two centuries and 19 fifties in international T20s. Virat Kohli, meanwhile, is second with 3227 runs from 95 matches at an average of 52.04. He has scored 29 fifties and has not scored a century in international T20s.
