The contribution of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) to the financing of these new projects divided between the support program for people in precarious situations (6 projects), the income improvement and economic inclusion program for young people (83 projects) and the support program for the human development of rising generations (3 projects), amounts to more than 29 MDH.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Kassi-Lahlou called on all partners and stakeholders to intensify their efforts and demonstrate responsibility in order to implement the various development actions and translate these projects into reality. , with a view to allowing targeted categories to benefit from it, in accordance with the guidelines and objectives of phase III of this major social project carried out under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Addressing the results of the INDH at the level of the prefecture of Marrakech during the period 2019-2022, the manager indicated that 645 projects have been programmed, of which 465 have been completed and 180 in the implementation phase or being launched, specifying that the number of projects completed by the end of the year should stand at 589, or 92.71% of the projects selected.
And to continue that the approved projects essentially aim to improve the indicators of human development at the level of the prefecture of Marrakech, in particular those linked to the development of childhood and the promotion of maternal and child health in rural centers and peri-urban areas, through the construction of maternity wards and the rehabilitation of existing ones, the equipment of health centers and the programming of the acquisition of mobile medical units.
These projects, he added, also aim to support schooling in order to enshrine the principle of equal opportunities in the pursuit of studies, noting, in this wake, that 177,840 students have benefited from the Royal Initiative. One million school bags” for the 2021-2022 school year, including 103,955 learners in rural areas and 73,885 in urban areas.
These actions also aim to support preschool education in rural areas, knowing that the number of programmed school units has reached 165, including 120 operational and 45 currently being created, noted Mr. Kassi-Lahlou, noting that the number of beneficiary children stands at 2,527, while that of educators reached 152.
The year 2022 was also marked by the adoption of a pilot project, to which a budget of 4.2 million dirhams was allocated, to provide academic support to students (girls and boys) in rural areas, targeting in a first phase 4,000 primary school students, who find difficulties, particularly in the subjects of French language and mathematics.
In the area of care for social categories in precarious situations (people with specific needs, kidney patients, women in advanced precarious situations, elderly people and abandoned children), the services from which they benefit have been strengthened, through the creation of new social centers, support and improvement of medical and social assistance services, while ensuring the continuity of the services currently offered by these establishments, and by strengthening the capacities of associations and people responsible for management of social assistance establishments through training programs.
In addition to these achievements, and in order to support the employment of young people and their socio-economic inclusion, the number of projects programmed reached 286 for a total investment of around 80.19 MDH, with a contribution from the INDH to height of 46.69 MDH.
These projects, which benefited 438 young people (women and men), focus on various economic activities, including agriculture, commerce, industry, crafts, services, tourism, technology, media and communication. .
This meeting, which was attended by members of the CPDH, representatives of local human development committees (CLDH) and heads of external services, was an opportunity for the head of the Social Action Division (DAS) to the prefecture of Marrakech, to present an exhaustive presentation on the progress of the projects programmed within the framework of the INDH during the period 2019-2022.
In addition, 16 partnership agreements relating to the economic integration of young people, in particular the axis relating to support for entrepreneurship and the encouragement and creation of businesses for the benefit of young people at the level of the prefecture of Marrakech , improving income by supporting production chains, and supporting people in precarious situations, were signed on this occasion.
Likewise, the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, handed over the keys to nine school transport buses to the municipalities of Saada (two buses), Souihla, Loudaya, Lamnabha, Aït Imour and Harbil (only one bus), as well as the Omniat Al Ghad Association for Education and Childhood and the Sidi Belabbas Association of the Bab Ghmat Children’s Home.
Mr. Kassi-Lahlou also distributed equipment acquired within the framework of the INDH for the benefit of Dar Talib “Kettara” and the Associations “Autism Ambassadors”, “Solidarity for the Deaf and Mutes”, ” Al Aakl Anabid”, “Awlad Aakil” for the development of women and “Al Hadi” for the advancement of women and children.
