Bangladesh will tour India on Sunday to play two Test matches and three T20 matches. However, the visit was not well received by India’s Hindu nationalist political party Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha. They have announced to attack the venue of the second Test in Kanpur. They asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to cancel the match and the series. Or they will oppose it.

‘India has assured us of maximum security’

Bangladeshi cricket fans were a bit worried about the matter. India had also initially considered changing the venue for the second Test. But later they informed about providing maximum security to Bangladesh team without changing the venue.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Farooq Ahmed asked BCCI Secretary Jai Shah about the security issue at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting held in Malaysia. There, Jai once again confirmed the fact of providing maximum security to the Bangladesh team.

In this regard, the new president of BCB said, ‘Yes, I have spoken to Jai Shah about this. He ensured maximum security to our team. As it is a bilateral series, ensuring security is easier than a multilateral global event. BCCI has assured us of security. We are also happy to discuss security issues with their board officials. Our team will fly to Chennai in a day or two. We are not planning to send anyone for extra security.’
