If the Indian team wants to go to the semi-final round, they are forced to win the league match against Bangladesh tomorrow.
After defeating Pakistan and Netherlands in the first two matches of the T20 World Cup, India lost to South Africa in the 3rd league match. With this victory, the South African team has secured 5 points in the ‘Group 2’ category and topped the points table. Indian team has been relegated to the 2nd place with 4 points. Bangladesh is at the 3rd position with 4 points. Bangladesh team is below India due to low run rate.
The Indian team has to win the next 2 league matches if they want to go to the semi-finals. As such, they will face Bangladesh next. The result will be known as to who will get the 2nd place. The match will be held tomorrow (Nov 2) at the Oval in Adelaide.
Bangladesh team captain Shakib Al Hasan said in an interview, “Every match in this series is very important for us. We want to play with the same approach. We don’t want to focus on any one protest. We want to focus on our projects. We are not concerned about the strike rate of our players. We are only focused on delivering a complete team performance in all aspects of cricket in this World Cup.
We want our team to play well in the remaining two games. It will be upset if we can win against India or Pakistan. Because both teams are better than us. I’m not saying we can’t win for that. We have seen teams like Ireland and Zimbabwe beat England and Pakistan. If we can do that, I’ll be happy.
Wherever India plays, the team gets huge support. So I think Bangladesh – India will be an intense match between the teams. The Indian team is here to win the World Cup. That’s not what we came here for. We will do our best to beat India in tomorrow’s match,” he said.
