Information and Broadcasting Adviser of the Interim Government Nahid Islam said that the upstream water has rushed into Bangladesh and created a flood situation. The dam was opened without any advance warning and preparation. Through this, India has shown inhumanity and non-cooperation with Bangladesh.

He said these things at a press briefing in front of the Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna after the meeting of the Advisory Council of the Interim Government on Thursday (August 22).

Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Water Resources Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan also spoke on various issues in the press briefing.

Nahid Islam said, we hope that India will withdraw from such policies against the people of Bangladesh as soon as possible. Students and people of Bangladesh are angry about this policy of India.

He said that the people of Bangladesh and India should find a fair solution on how to protect the people from such natural disasters together. The people of Bangladesh have been agitating and speaking for a fair share of water for a long time. There should be no tension in Bangladesh-India relations and the state relations of the two countries should be replaced on the basis of justice.

Feni, Comilla, Noakhali, Brahmanbaria, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Moulvibazar and Habiganj – these eight districts of the country have seen extreme deterioration of the flood situation.
