India Launches Indigenous Td Vaccine to Boost Health Security

Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh – In a significant step towards bolstering India’s public health infrastructure and national health security, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched the indigenously manufactured tetanus and adult diphtheria (Td) vaccine on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The vaccine, produced at the Central Research Institute (CRI) in Kasauli, will now be included in the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), making it more accessible to populations across the country.
