India ready to help peaceful solution to Ukraine-Russia issue – Prime Minister Modi assured

As the war between Ukraine and Russia has been going on for more than seven and a half months, Prime Minister Modi held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Zelensky today, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The two leaders discussed the current situation in Ukraine. The prime minister then said that the issue could not be resolved militarily and that it was necessary to pursue diplomatic peace talks.

Prime Minister Modi also said that prolonging the war would endanger the nuclear power plants and cause disaster. The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of respecting the UN Charter, international law, sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations.

Modi said then that India is ready to help resolve the Ukraine-Russia conflict through peaceful means, according to the Prime Minister’s Office statement.
