India team to tour Australia without Shamik

Mohammad Shami‘s return to the national team has been prolonged. After Bangladesh, New Zealand, this pacer did not get a place in the Australian tour team. The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an 18-member squad for the five Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy without him.

India announced the squad for the tour of Australia on Friday (October 25). Three young cricketers Avimanyu Iswaran, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and pacer Harshit Rana have been called up to the team. Kuldeep Yadav and Akshar Patel have been dropped from the team for the New Zealand series. Prasidh Krishna is back.

Shami was injured in the final of the last ODI World Cup. He then underwent ankle surgery. Currently, this pacer is in the last stage of rehabilitation. Shami wanted to see himself play in the Ranji Trophy to get fit for the tour of Australia. But India announced the team before that.

Among the newcomers called up to the team, Ishwaran has performed well at home. Dulip scored 4 centuries in Irani and Ranji. Ishwaran can be seen in place of Rohit in the team.

Another young 22-year-old Harshit has taken 36 wickets in 9 first-class matches so far. The 21-year-old Nitish has played 21 first-class matches. This pace all-rounder scored 708 runs and took 55 wickets.

India will start the tour of Australia with a three-day warm-up match against the India ‘A’ team from November 15 in Perth. After that, the first Test will start on November 22 at the same ground.
