Team India’s Efforts Fall Short in First Test Against South Africa

In the first Test cricket match against the South African team, the Indian team was bowled out for 245 runs in the first innings. The rain-affected first day of the Test at Supersport Park in Centurion saw India scoring 208 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 59 overs.

KL Rahul and Mohammad Siraj continued to play on the second day, with Rahul hitting a century by smashing the last ball of an over towards the boundary. Rahul’s innings was highly impressive, comprising of 14 fours and 4 sixes. He was eventually bowled out for 101 runs. On behalf of the South African team, Kagiso Rabada took 5 wickets, Nandre Burger 3 wickets, and Marco Jansson and Gerald Coetzee took one wicket each.

The South African team then batted, with Dean Elgar scoring a century off 140 balls, and David Bedingham hitting his first half-century. The pair added 131 runs for the 4th wicket, putting South Africa in the lead and finishing the second day with a score of 256 runs for 5 wickets.
