India won two more medals at the World Junior Weightlifting Championships.

The World Junior Weightlifting Championships are taking place in Greece. In the women’s 49 kg weight category held on the 2nd day, Gnaneswari of Indian car Satish Gara won the silver medal by lifting a total of 156 kg by lifting 73 kg in the ‘snatch’ mode and 83 kg in the ‘clean and jerk’ mode.

Another Indian, Rithika, won the bronze medal by lifting a total weight of 150 kg. In this, the bronze medalist of the Tokyo Olympics, Indonesia’s Windy Kondika Aizam won the gold medal by lifting a total weight of 185 kg. India have won 3 medals so far in this competition.

On the first day, Indian athlete Harshada Sharad Garud (45 kg) won the gold medal. Russia and Belarus have been banned from participating in the tournament in response to the war in Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that athletes from China, Romania and Bulgaria did not participate in the tournament due to various reasons.
