Heavy Rain Alert in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Schools and Colleges Declared Holiday Tomorrow

Chennai: Heavy rain is expected in parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry tomorrow, November 14, as a result of an upper atmospheric circulation over the Bay of Bengal. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain in Cuddalore and Puducherry, with light to moderate rain expected in many other areas.

The forecast includes heavy to very heavy rain in specific districts, including Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Cuddalore, as well as in Puducherry, Thiruvallur, Chennai, and several others. In response to the anticipated heavy rain, schools and colleges in Cuddalore and Mayiladuthurai districts have been declared holiday, as per an order issued by the District Collectors. Similarly, holidays have also been declared in Puducherry and Karaikal regions.

Due to the heavy rain alert, 10 teams of the National Disaster Response Force are on alert, and the Tamil Nadu Revenue and Disaster Management Department has issued orders to District Collectors to be prepared to take appropriate measures in response to the heavy rain. It is important for residents in these areas to stay prepared for the anticipated heavy rainfall and follow any safety recommendations or evacuation orders that may be issued.
