Wanted to leave India and play cricket for Canada: Indian superstar reveals
Indian star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has revealed that he once decided to go to Canada to get better opportunities in cricket. Bumrah was speaking at an event at Jio Cinema with Bumrah’s wife Sanjana.
“We have discussed this issue before. Like everyone else, I dreamed of becoming a great cricketer for India. But the odds were slim before me. Another backup plan was needed in this case.
So I finished my education and after that we thought about joining as a family. But the culture abroad was too much for Amma.
But luckily here everything is perfect. Otherwise I would have gone on to play international cricket for Canada. I am very happy to play for India and Mumbai Indians. “One can achieve any goal in life if one works hard with consistency,” said Bumrah.
Bumrah made his debut for Mumbai Indians in 2013. Bumrah’s cricket victory journey that started that day stands today as India’s best Indian pacer of all time. Bumrah is currently an indispensable talent of the Indian cricket team in all three formats. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah performed brilliantly by taking five wickets in Mumbai bowling. Bumrah took five wickets by conceding just 21 runs in four overs.
Bowling at 5.25 economy, Bumrah showed his strength by dismissing Bengaluru players like Virat Kohli, skipper Faf Duplessis, Mahipal Lomore, Sourav Chauhan and Vaishakh Vijay Kumar.
Bumrah is also the top wicket taker this season. The player took ten wickets from five matches.
