Cochin:
The 9th edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) football series, featuring 11 teams, will begin on October 7 in Kochi.
Kerala Blasters vs East Bengal (7.30 pm) in the opening match. Former champion Chennaiyin F.C. They will face Mohan Baghan in Kolkata on October 10 in their first match.
Meanwhile, Chennai’s first home match (against Bengaluru) will be played at the Nehru Stadium on 14th. After 2 years fans are allowed to watch this match in person.
A new ‘play-off’ round has been introduced in the schedule for the tournament, which will run until March next year. The top two teams at the end of the league round will advance directly to the semi-finals.
The teams ranked 3rd to 6th in the points table will play in the play-off round. From these 2 more teams will be selected for semi-final.
