Centurion: The legendary batsman and former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has said that the Centurion Test was one of the greatest victories in the history of Indian cricket (Team India) but should not be compared to the previous generation. Gavaskar said that the current team led by Virat Kohli can help India achieve more success.

Team India achieved an unparalleled feat with their legendary victory at Centurion. Kolipada is the first Asian team to win at the South African Fort. Therefore, the argument that India is the best team of all time is strong. But former captain Sunil Gavaskar disagrees.
‘There have been teams that have excelled on different pitches before. The current team is incredible. But comparison does not matter. Do not compare players and teams from different eras. We need to enjoy the victory of the current team. The current team has a lot of good moments to remember, ”Gavaskar said. KL Rahul’s batsman can be expected to score more centuries, said India’s all-time great opener.
Virat Kohli and his team won the first Test at Centurion by 113 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series. South Africa were bowled out for 191 in the second innings with a target of 305. Score: India-327 & 174, South Africa-197 & 191. Bumrah and Shami took three wickets each while Siraj and Ashwin took two and two wickets respectively.
Kohli praises Shami
After the match, skipper Virat Kohli said that bowlers were behind India’s achievements in Test cricket. Kohli said that Mohammad Shami is one of the three best bowlers in the world. Shami had taken eight wickets in two innings as India won the toss and elected to bat. Shami became the fifth Indian pacer to take 200 wickets in Tests during the match.
