New Delhi – External Affairs Minister S. Jayashankar criticized Canada. Jayashankar said that Canada was making a public response against India by rejecting the request to share the concerns related to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The criticism was in an interview granted to a national media. “Canada has been giving space to terrorists and extremists for several years now. This is Canada’s political weakness. Due to this many incidents happened which should not have happened” – said Jayashankar.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has publicly accused India. Before that, the Prime Ministers of both the countries had met each other. I was there too. We told Canada that if there were any matters of concern, it would be reported and investigated. They didn’t say anything. But he openly made accusations against India.” – Jaishankar accused.

Jaishankar also compared the politics of the US and Canada. “The US has said it has some information about criminals and will hand it over. They will be compared and investigated on our end. There is room for violence, extremism and division in Canada’s politics. There is no such problem in the US” – said Jayashankar. Jaishankar’s US-Canada comparison was related to the controversy that there was an attempt to kill Khalistan separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in the US.
