The former director of Indra Axel Arendt, who submitted his resignation after the election of José Vicente de los Mozos as the new CEO of the company to replace Ignacio Mataix, has explained in a letter his departure from the company and has opined that the commission of appointments, remuneration and corporate governance of the firm was “pressed by an excessive sense of urgency in the final phase” of the “selection process”according to the Europa Press agency.

Arendt’s letter, addressed to the president of Indra, Marc Murtra, and to the board and sent by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), highlights that the selection process for the new CEO was carried out with “the greatest rigor, speed and independence possible” by the commission.

“However, I have observed that the commission has been pressured by an excessive sense of urgency in the final phase of this selection process, which in my opinion has prevented the commission from having enough time to ensure the greatest possible success of the decision“, has valued the ex-advisor of Indra.

The departure of Mataix

In addition, Arendt has claimed that nor does he understand the “reasonableness” of the departure of Ignacio Mataix from the company, given that, in his opinion, Indra obtained “very good results” under his leadership.

“Although I agreed with the transactional agreement that regulated the departure of Mataix -since once it became clear that Mataix would leave his position as CEO (CEO) I believed that this agreement was in the best interests of the company and its shareholders-, the reasonableness of the departure itself continues to elude my comprehension in view of the very good results achieved by the company under Mataix’s leadership and the high regard it enjoys in the markets and in the defense industry” , Arendt has emphasized.
