From May 6 to 20 National Electoral Institute (INE) will receive Early Voting from citizens from all over the country who, due to some physical limitation or disability, are unable to go to the polls, as well as people who are in preventive detention.

On April 30, the General Council approved the finality of the Nominal List of Voters in Preventive Prison, made up of 30,391 people and those who can vote at homewith four thousand two registered, of which, two thousand 469 are women and one thousand 533 men.

In accordance with article 141 of the General Law of Electoral Institutions and Procedures (LGIPE)people with some physical limitation or disability requested credentialing and voting at home.

Last February, citizens were visited at their homes to collect the authorization or not, of those who agreed to leave the Ordinary Nominal List and be part of the Early Voting Nominal List.

Starting on May 6, the people designated by the District Councils will deliver the envelopes containing the ballots to citizens at their homes. to elect the Presidency of the Republic, senators and deputations.

Likewise, at the local level, the ballot to vote for the head of Government for Mexico City, governors, as the case may be, as well as candidates who occupy the mayors, city councils and local councils.

According to the Third Report on progress in the organization of Early Voting in the Concurrent Electoral Process 2023-2024the entities with the highest number of requests to participate under this modality are Mexico City, Jalisco, Veracruz, State of Mexico and Aguascalientes.

At the same time, for the first time, the INE will implement the Vote of People in Preventive Prisons (VPPP)there will be 30,391 women and men who could participate in the Federal Electoral Process (PEF-2023-2024), within 216 Penitentiary Centers.

According to the Third Report on progress in the organization of the Vote of People in Preventive Prisons, 142 District Councils approved the location and installation of 158 VPPP Scrutiny and Computation Tables.

In this case, people in prison without a final sentence will receive the ballots to elect the Presidency of the Republic, and in the states of Chiapas, Mexico City and Hidalgo also for the person Head of the Head of Government, governorship, mayorstown councils and local councils.
