The National Electoral Institute (INE) will allow about 21 thousand Mexicans who gave incomplete data vote from abroad in the Elections 2024.

This way, 20,964 Mexicans who provided incomplete data with minor inconsistencies will be included in the Nominal List of Voters Resident Abroad so that they can be incorporated no later than April 28 and vote outside of Mexico.

  • 10,572 presented minor differences or absence of signature on the copy of the Voting Credential
  • 75 had a copy of the front or back of the Voter Credential missing
  • 9,859 presented a combination of inconsistency in the Voter Credential or in the proof of address
  • 458 had proof of address with inconsistency

The INE indicated that those records of Mexicans living abroad and that they cannot be definitely included in the Nominal List of Voters Resident Abroad, will be included in the National Nominal List of Voters.

In this way, eventually They could vote in Mexican territory or, if applicable, in the 23 consular offices where voting will be carried out in person for the 2024 Elections.

With this measure, the INE seeks to maximize the right to vote of Mexicans residing abroad.
