On the occasion of World IBD Day, we are taking stock of inflammatory bowel diseases.
Worldwide, 10 million people have Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis (UC). These two diseases, which most often develop in flare-ups, are characterized by inflammation of the wall of part of the digestive tract, due to a deregulation of the intestinal immune system and can cause diarrhea, bleeding, pain and intense fatigue.
