The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) inaugurated a new Service Center Infonavit (Cesi) in Mexico City, with the aim of bringing its products and services to more than 15 thousand people in the Cuauhtémoc and Miguel Hidalgo municipalities.
This action is part of a larger effort to facilitate access to housing and provide support to workers in the construction of their heritage.
The new Cesilocated on Balderas Street #144, in the Colonia Centro of the capital, will offer a wide range of services and procedures related to mortgage loans and housing solutions.
Among the main procedures that can be carried out in these facilities are advice to acquire a new or existing home, request loans for the construction, remodeling or expansion of homes, as well as access to credit restructuring programs and discounts for early settlement.
Historical expansion in Infonavit infrastructure
During the opening ceremony, the General Director of Infonavit, Carlos Martínez Velázquez, highlighted that this opening is part of the largest investment in infrastructure and furniture made by the institution in the last 20 years.
In this six-year period, 18 new offices have been inaugurated and all existing ones have been remodeled, consolidating Infonavit’s commitment to the expansion of its services.
“The purpose of these actions is to ensure that each worker can access Infonavit services in a simple and efficient way, without having to make long or complicated transfers,” said Martínez Velázquez.
He added that the institution will continue to strengthen its infrastructure to guarantee quality service to its beneficiaries and contribute to the economic growth of cities.
Commitment to workers and inter-institutional collaboration
Octavio de la Torre de Stéffano, president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism of the United Mexican States (Concanaco Servytur), stressed the importance of the collaboration between his organization and Infonavit for the development of this new center of attention.
“This new Cesi will streamline procedures related to savings and credit, providing workers with faster and more efficient access,” said De la Torre de Stéffano.
With the opening of this new service center, Infonavit reiterates its commitment to putting workers at the center of their decisions, providing them with tools that facilitate access to adequate housing and the consolidation of their assets throughout their working life.
Closer and more efficient access to housing services
Infonavit beneficiaries will be able to access various credit solutions in this new center, such as the exchange of credits denominated in Times Minimum Wage (VSM) to pesos, through the Shared Responsibility program, which seeks to protect workers from fluctuations in monthly payments.
In addition, Cesi will provide personalized advice on choosing credits, allowing users to make informed decisions about purchasing a home or improving their current properties.
Among other services, options will also be provided to request extensions or restructuring of monthly payments, offering support in times of economic difficulty.
Since its creation in 1972, Infonavit has placed more than 919 thousand credits in Mexico City.
