updated: Ingrid Andress shares a candid statement about her viral performance of the US national anthem on her Instagram Story. Here she writes that the reason for the suspension was that she was drunk, and she apologizes to both MLB, the fans and the country.

“I’m not going to lie to you, I was drunk yesterday. I am checking into a health center today to get the help I need. It wasn’t me yesterday. I apologize to MLB, the fans and this country that I love that performance so much. I’ll tell you what rehab is, I hear it’s great fun. xo, Ingrid”, writes the artist on Instagram.

After Fergie’s performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” in 2018 became the worst performance of the US national anthem ever, it looks like she may be calling it quits.

Last night, Ingrid Andress made sure she walked away with that title.

The 32-year-old country artist quickly went viral when she was honored to sing the national anthem at the Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas. It probably didn’t go as well as she imagined.

Plus a little throwback to Fergie’s version.

Of course, the reactions are not long in coming.

“I’m sorry. I’m sure Ingrid Andress is a great person, but it was one of the worst performances of the national anthem I’ve ever heard in my life,” reads X’s feedback.

One also writes that she hopes the country artist will take a break from social media for a few days.

And it might seem that she is in any case thinking about it.

In any case, Ingrid Andress has now closed her comments on all platforms.

That includes Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.

You can’t reply to any of the posts she shared on X either.

But who exactly is this artist who will now unfortunately be remembered for this rather than his other achievements?

Ingrid started her career in 2014 when she signed with Sea Gayle Music and Arthouse Entertainment. From here she started writing songs for other artists.

Among other things, she is behind Charli XCX’s 2017 “Boys” and Bebe Rexah’s “Girl in the Mirror”.

In 2018, she signed a contract with Warner Nashville and Atlantic Records. Two years later, she was nominated for three Grammy awards, and last year she received her fourth nomination.

The latest nomination was in the “best performance by a country duo/group” category.

In other words, Ingrid has proven before that she can sing live.

Listen to a little makeover from the Country Music Awards below.

The 32-year-old has not commented on the entire night.
