Foch Hospital and Institut Curie Forge Alliance to Strengthen Paris Healthcare Ecosystem
A new partnership between Foch Hospital and the Institut Curie aims to build a sustainable model for healthcare delivery, bolstering research and ensuring accessibility for patients at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris (IMM).
A landmark collaboration between Foch Hospital and the institut Curie is poised to reshape the healthcare landscape in Paris, France. The Foch-Curie project represents a strategic alignment of complementary expertise in patient care and cutting-edge research,building upon existing cooperative efforts like the 2020 creation of the Curie-Montsouris Health Cooperation Group and the 2017 establishment of the thorax Institute.
The initiative is driven by a shared medical-scientific vision – a commitment to excellence in care, relentless innovation, accessible healthcare, and the training of future medical professionals. According to a statement released by the organizations, the project received strong support from IMM staff, with 75% of votes in favor from their CSE (Economic and Social Committee) and endorsement from the Establishment Medical Commission.
The foch-Curie project is designed to provide a comprehensive and innovative response to the evolving needs of IMM patients. This will be achieved through a combination of medical expertise,streamlined organizational efficiency,financial duty,and a collective commitment to patient well-being. Facing increasing pressures within the French healthcare system, the partnership seeks to establish a resilient and adaptable model capable of addressing future challenges while simultaneously fostering enterprising research and innovation.
The Institut Mutualiste Montsouris, currently serving nearly 55,000 hospital stays, 250,000 consultations, and facilitating over 2,000 births annually with it’s team of 1,470 professionals – including 270 doctors – will benefit from the combined strengths of Foch and curie. this transition is expected to solidify its position as a leading center for excellence in both care and research.
Leaders from both Foch Hospital and the Institut Curie expressed their gratitude to their respective teams and IMM collaborators for their dedication and trust in the project’s success.
Foch Hospital, a major healthcare provider in the Ile-de-France region, boasts a workforce of 2,300 employees, 611 beds, and handles approximately 260,000 consultations (excluding maternity and emergency services) and over 60,000 hospitalizations each year.
