The Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced on Sunday the arrest of three wanted persons on charges of terrorism, kidnapping, and drug trafficking in Baghdad and Najaf.
A statement by the Directorate, received by the (INA), stated that “detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense were able to overthrow two wanted persons on charges of terrorism and kidnapping in the Al-Zafaraniyah and Al-Taji areas in Baghdad, and two arrest warrants were issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Articles (1). /4 terrorism, 421 kidnapping),” indicating that “they were referred for investigation to complete their investigative papers.”
He added that “the Najaf Al-Ashraf intelligence and security detachments affiliated with the same directorate were able to arrest a drug dealer and dealer in the same governorate red-handed, and a judicial warrant was issued against him in accordance with Article 28 of Narcotics,” noting that “his statements were initially and judicially recorded and taken… Necessary measures against him.”
