After 8 pm on this day, broadband customers started getting internet in various parts of the country. However, customers are facing problems in using some social media including Facebook, WhatsApp.

Fourji (mobile internet) was shut down last Wednesday when violent situation arose around the quota reform movement. According to the operators, the forge was closed on the orders of the authorities. Broadband internet was also shut down on Thursday night. However, the government claims that the service has been suspended due to damage to internet infrastructure in the violence. However, those concerned with the sector claim that if the infrastructure is damaged, the internet service will be limited and the speed will decrease. But by no means will the entire service stop. Because, there are many alternative ways to keep internet service running in the country.

Digital life is interrupted due to lack of internet connection. Online financial transactions are halted. Common people are also suffering for the past few days. Due to network complications, the customers could not recharge the balance of the prepaid meter. As a result, many people have to stay without electricity for a long time. Due to lack of electricity, water shortage also occurs. People can be seen standing for hours at electricity offices to recharge cards.

Russel T Ahmed, president of BASIS, an association of software exporters, said that the information technology sector has lost about Tk 400 crore in the last few days due to internet shutdown.
