German Driver Faces Multiple Charges After High-Speed Chase and Weapons Discovery

A 24-year-old German woman is facing multiple criminal investigations following a dramatic early morning pursuit and subsequent vehicle search in Stralsund, Germany, on Sunday, December 21, 2025. The incident, which began with a routine patrol, quickly escalated into a foot chase and the discovery of an illegal weapon.

Initial Pursuit and Arrest

According to a statement released by the Neubrandenburg Police Headquarters, officers in Stralsund’s old town observed a Skoda vehicle at approximately 2:40 a.m. When officers signaled the vehicle to stop, the driver allegedly increased speed and attempted to evade authorities. The vehicle was eventually brought to a halt, at which point the driver exited and attempted to flee on foot. Officers successfully apprehended the woman.

Evidence of Intoxication and Narcotics Use

A subsequent voluntary breath alcohol test revealed a reading of 0.24 per mille, significantly exceeding the legal limit. Furthermore, officers observed physical abnormalities suggesting the driver had also consumed narcotics. The driver later confirmed having used narcotics. As a result, authorities prohibited further travel and ordered a blood sample for analysis.

Weapon Discovered During Vehicle Search

A search of the vehicle yielded a concerning discovery: a brass knuckles. This finding has triggered additional investigations related to weapons laws.

Ongoing Investigations

The criminal police have initiated investigations on multiple fronts, including:

  • Endangering road traffic
  • Drunk driving
  • Unauthorized use of a vehicle
  • Violations of road traffic regulations and the road traffic law
  • Violations of the Narcotics Act
  • Violations of the Weapons Act

“These investigations are ongoing, and we are committed to ensuring the safety of our community,” stated a senior official.
