Cincinnati Reds fans have a lot to be excited about, as four prospects landed spots on the MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list, unveiled live on MLB Network Friday night. The organization’s future looks bright with Sal Stewart, Alfredo Duno, Steele Hall, and Rhett Lowder all recognized among the best young players in baseball.
Reds’ Stewart Leads the Way
Table of Contents
The Cincinnati Reds boast a strong farm system, headlined by infielder Sal Stewart, who checks in at #22 overall.
Sal Stewart currently tops the list of Reds prospects, coming in at #22. The 22-year-old infielder had a breakout 2025, hitting over .300 at both double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville, with 10 home runs at each level. That performance earned him a call-up to the majors in September, where he added five more home runs, finishing the year with 25 total. Stewart posted a .309/.383/.524 slash line in 118 minor league games and an .839 OPS in 18 games with Cincinnati.
Duno Earns Recognition After MVP Season
Sixteen spots down the list,at #38,is catcher Alfredo Duno. The young backstop spent the entire 2025 season with Single-A Daytona, where he dominated the competition.Duno was named the league’s MVP after hitting.287/.430/.518 with 32 doubles and 18 home runs. Remarkably,he walked four more times than he struck out, leading the league in average (.287),home runs, runs scored,RBIs,on-base percentage, slugging percentage, walks, and doubles.
Hall and Lowder Round Out the List
Steele Hall, at #83, and Rhett Lowder, at #85, complete the Reds’ representation on the list. Hall, the club’s first-round pick from last july, didn’t get to play in official games due to the timing of the draft, but he participated in the bridge league, an unofficial league for minor leaguers similar to spring training games.Scouts believe Hall has the potential to be a five-tool shortstop with exceptional speed.
Rhett Lowder’s ranking has dropped due to a lost season. An injury during the offseason led to him starting the year on the injured list, followed by an oblique injury during his elbow rehab, sidelining him for most of the year. He did manage to get in some rehab games and appeared in four games in the Arizona Fall League, pitching a total of 9.0 innings.
What makes a baseball prospect valuable? It’s a combination of current skill, potential for growth, and how quickly they might contribute at the major league level. These four Reds prospects represent a promising blend of all three.
Reds Farm System Ranking The Reds’ farm system is currently ranked among the top 10 in baseball, a significant improvement from recent years. This is due to a focus on drafting and developing high-potential players.
