Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman explained how artificial intelligence (AI) tools will work on Apple smartphones. The material is available on the agency’s website, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
According to the specialist, the AI service on iPhone will perform all calculations locally, without access to the Internet – Gurman talked about this back in mid-April. The author noted that in this way the user’s data will be protected, and the speed of the AI in this case is higher than when processing information on a remote server.
However, AI tools for iPhone will not be as powerful as those of competitors. Describing the work of AI, Gurman noted that new tools will improve the work of the built-in voice assistant Siri, adjusting the output. AI models will also be better at interpreting complex queries than the voice assistant in its current state.
Mark Gurman noted that AI on a smartphone will be able to perform the functions of chatbots. Thus, most likely, models will be able to generate text or create images in response to a user request. AI functions on the iPhone may be presented at WWDC in June along with the announcement of iOS 18.
