The corona 3rd wave has begun to spread. Therefore, the BCCI has postponed domestic cricket matches. So while doubts have been raised as to whether the IPL will be held, it seems that the BCCI has taken a major decision on that.

Lucknow and Ahmedabad have two new teams joining in the 15th season of IPL. Lucknow team was bought by RP Sanjeev Goenka Group for Rs 7,090 crore. Ahmedabad team was acquired by CVC Capital Partners for Rs 5,625 crore.

With 10 teams playing in the 15th season of the IPL, the auction for the 15th season will be a mega auction. As the BCCI had planned to hold the mega auction on February 12 and 13, it seems that the auction may be postponed due to the Corona threat.

It has also been reported that the BCCI is planning to hold the entire 15th season of the IPL in Mumbai. The BCCI does not want to hold the 15th season in the UAE, as the last 2 seasons have been held in the UAE due to the Corona threat. Therefore, it has been reported that the BCCI, which wants to hold the season in India, has decided to hold the entire season in Mumbai only.
