Lucknow: Lucknow Supergiants beat Sunrisers Hyderabad easily in today’s match of the 16th IPL season.

Chasing an easy target of 122 runs, Kyle Meyers gave Lucknow a modest start this time. He was dismissed by Fazalhaq Farooqi who scored 13 runs off 14 balls. Deepak Hooda was satisfied with 7 runs and Krunal Pandya played with open KL Rahul.

He was dismissed by Umran Malik who looked to end the game quickly. For his part, captain KL Rahul, who returned to the pavilion with 34 runs in 23 tens, fell for 35 runs.

Though wickets fell after this, Lucknow won by five wickets with 24 balls to spare. Stoinis scored 10 runs and Nicholas Pooran scored 11 runs until the end.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Adil Rashid took the maximum two wickets, while Umran Malik and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one wicket each. With this, the Lucknow team registered their first win in the series. Meanwhile, the Hyderabad team lost both the matches they played.

Lucknow Innings: Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat in this match at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Accordingly, Mayank Agarwal and Anmolpreet Singh entered the field as openers. Mayank Agarwal started with 8 runs and Rahul Tripathi came into the field. Anmolpreet Singh was dismissed for 31 runs to show a calm performance by both. Next came Aidan Markram, who was bowled on the first ball, followed by Harry Brooke who finished with 3 runs.

Rahul Tripathi, who played steady, returned to the pavilion on 34 runs and lost 5 wickets at the end of 18 overs without any major improvement in the team’s score and added 105 runs.

Washington Sundar was wicketless for 16 runs and Adil Rashid left the ground with 4 runs to reach the pavilion. Next up, Umran Malik joins them for no runs. At the end of the allotted 20 overs, Hyderabad lost 8 wickets and scored only 121 runs. Abdul Samad scored 21 runs and Bhuvaneskumar remained in the field without scoring any runs.

For Lucknow Spinners, Kurunal Pandya took 3 wickets, Amit Mishra took 2 wickets, Ravi Bishnoi took 1 wicket and fast bowler Yash Thakur took 1 wicket.
