Shardul Thakur (Delhi Capitals) and Herschelle Patel (Royal Challengers Bangalore) were next with Rs 10.75 crore each. Hulshal was brought back by the RCB. Herschel is currently with the Indian team. Meanwhile, cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has praised the youngster.
Gavaskar says Herschel deserves the money he received in the star auction. Gavaskar’s words … ” The star put out an unforgettable performance last year. Therefore, he deserves the money he received this time. The main feature of Herschel is that he replaced himself. Previously Herschel was the bowler the Batters were waiting for. Because he was not ready to make any changes in the bowling. And conceded runs well. But he learned from the setbacks. Today the Batters do not want to face Herschel. “Batter is not sure what kind of ball he’s throwing,” Gavaskar said.
Herschel took 32 wickets last season. Herschel also holds the record for most wickets taken in a single season in the IPL. It was only after joining the RCB that his bowling progressed so much.
Gavaskar also spoke about this. “Herschel can throw the Yorker well. As well as slower bouncers. Herschel has possession of sliding balls as well. Herschel knows exactly when to use all of these. He has so much experience. Herschel, who has been playing in the IPL for many seasons, has been making progress at every stage, ”Gavaskar said.
He took two wickets in the first T20I against the Windies. He conceded 37 runs in four overs. India won the match by six wickets. After losing the toss and opting to bat, the Windies scored 157 for seven in the allotted overs. In reply, India lost just four wickets in 18.5 overs.
