Iran, China and Russia will hold joint naval exercises by the end of March. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Navy, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

“We also invite other countries to take part in the naval exercises of Iran, China and Russia, which will take place before the end of March,” the Tasnim agency quoted him as saying. According to the rear admiral, these exercises are conducted in the common interests of ensuring security in the region.

In 2023, the trilateral exercises of Russia, China and Iran “Maritime Security Belt – 2023” took place from March 16 to 17 in the Arabian Sea near the Iranian port of Chahbehar. As reported by the press service of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy, the participants practiced the formation of an interethnic detachment of warships, joint tactical maneuvering in various formations and combat orders. In addition, they carried out artillery fire on a naval target during the day, and at night, they hit air targets with artillery fire, and also conducted training on freeing a ship with hostages and providing assistance to a ship in distress at sea.
