The Government of Israel reported that the vast majority of the drones launched by Iran over its territory were intercepted.

Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari had previously confirmed that on Saturday night, Iran carried out a large-scale attack with “more than 200 drones, ballistic and cruise missiles.”

Hagari emphasized that, in addition to the fact that 99 percent of the drones were intercepted, some “caused minor damage to a military base in the south of the country.”

Likewise, he reported that a girl was injured by these attacks by Iran against Israel, although he added that she is recovering favorably.

“The Iranian attack was thwarted,” he said, while considering that “this is a serious and dangerous escalation.”

The official noted that the military forces of that country remain alert and continue to intercept “planes and cruise missiles that are heading towards Israeli territory: the event is not over yet.”

“Together with our partners, the Israel Defense Forces are operating in full force to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel. This is a mission that we are determined and willing to fulfill.”he added.

It is worth mentioning that, hours before, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed these attacks with dozens of missiles and drones against Israel. The Iranians claimed that this advance was in “response to the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Syria.”

For his part, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured this Saturday that Israel is “prepared” to face a “direct attack from Iran,” which threatened retaliation for the bombing in Damascus on April 1.

“We are prepared for any scenario, both in terms of defense and attack,”

Netanyahu stated in a televised speech.

He also added that his nation has the support of the United States and other countries. Meanwhile, the White House indicated that the drone attack that Iran launched this Saturday against Israel will probably last “several hours”, while promising to support its ally’s defense against Tehran.
