Iran boosts border security with Iraq with smart optical equipment

/ The Iranian Border Guards confirmed on Wednesday that its forces are conducting immediate and reassuring diplomacy with the brotherly, friendly and neighboring country, Iraq, in a way that provides sustainable security for the borders.

The commander of the Border Guards of the Iranian Police Force, Brigadier General Ahmad Ali Goudarzi, said, “The Border Guards of Kermanshah Province and the border regiments in this important province, including Qasr-e Shirin, Soumar, Salas-e Babajani and Paveh, are carrying out immediate and reassuring diplomacy with the brotherly, friendly and neighboring country of Iraq, which provides permanent security for the borders.”

“Today, we had a tactical and operational meeting in the general area of ​​Qasr-e Shirin with the commanders of the affiliated regiments, including those of Kermanshah, Khuzestan, Ilam, Kurdistan, and West Azerbaijan provinces, and the border guards of these provinces, to discuss the relentless fight against armed smugglers, especially the evil groups in the region, and we reached positive and desired results for the necessary intelligence control in the northwestern, western, and southwestern borders of the country,” Goudarzi added.

He stressed the need to take the necessary decisions in the areas of training and providing new optical and electronic equipment, especially smart border devices and capabilities needed by the country’s border guards.

The Commander of the Border Guard Forces pointed out that effective and influential measures have been taken regarding water, electricity and gas supplies, building appropriate facilities and educational complexes, and making the service environment suitable in the border units for colleagues present on the border around the clock in order to improve the operational capacity of colleagues at border points and harsh mountainous conditions and maintain more capability than in the past.
