Tehran | Court in Iran sentences dissident with German-Iranian citizenship to death. Jamshed Sharmad was sentenced to death on charges of sedition. Jamshed is 67 years old.
It is suspected that Jamshed, who lived in America, was kidnapped by Iranian spies in Dubai in 2020. Then he was forcibly taken to Iran via Oman. Iran accuses Jamshed of being the head of a terrorist group that supports the monarchy.
He has denied this allegation. Jamshed said that the confession was forced and the trial was one-sided. Meanwhile, Germany strongly condemned the death penalty.
