Paris: The Iranian government has executed 12 people in a single day. Eleven men and a woman were hanged. The Norwegian-based human rights group said on Monday that those involved in the murder and drug cases had been executed.
Sisthan – The death sentence was carried out at Sahedan Jail in Balochistan province. In 2019, a woman arrested in connection with the murder of her husband was executed. All of those killed were from Iran’s Sunni minority. But the Iranian government is not ready to comment on the incident.
The human rights group said the Iranian government’s stance on minorities was “worrying”. Iran executed 333 people in 2021. Amnesty International also expressed concern over the rising number of executions.
