Islamabad: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who was on a visit to Pakistan, has now left for Sri Lanka after staying for 3 days. After Raisi’s departure, Iran and Pakistan have issued a joint statement. In this statement, Iran has expressed its opinion on the issue of Kashmir. In a joint statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan, it has been said that both the countries stressed on resolving the Kashmir issue through dialogue and peaceful means in accordance with the wishes of the people there and international law. Earlier, Raisi had distanced himself from Shehbaz Sharif when he mentioned Kashmir during the press conference, which was a huge insult to the Pakistani Prime Minister in front of the world.
The President of Iran left for Sri Lanka from Karachi. After this, the Foreign Ministry of Iran and Pakistan have issued a joint statement. In this, both sides have mentioned free trade agreement, Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Islamophobia, anti-terrorism cooperation. On Kashmir, Iran and Pakistan said, ‘Both sides stressed on resolving the Kashmir issue through dialogue and peaceful means which is in accordance with the wishes of the people there and international law.’ This statement of Iran is being considered very measured due to which friend India should not face any problem.
Iranian President failed Shehbaz’s move
In this way, after all-round criticism, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry somehow convinced Iran to give a statement on Kashmir. That too when Shahbaz Sharif started singing the praises of Kashmir in front of Raisi to create a rift in the friendship between Iran and India. Shehbaz Sharif tried unsuccessfully to compare the situation in Kashmir with Gaza. The Iranian President, sensing the move of the Pakistani Prime Minister, did not even mention Kashmir anywhere. This brought shame to Shahbaz government.

Iran and Pakistan said, ‘Both countries emphasize the importance of cooperation in the energy sector, including electricity trade, power transmission lines and the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline. The leaders of both the countries have agreed to increase bilateral trade to 10 billion dollars in the next 5 years. This statement on the gas pipeline between Iran and Pakistan has come at a time when America has openly threatened sanctions.
