In Paris, demonstrators displayed anti-regime flags and images of reza Pahlavi, the son of the former Shah and a prominent opposition figure. Some protesters burned flags of the Islamic Republic and portraits of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. An Iranian student at the protest, named Arya, told AFP, “In Iran, the people are rising up in the streets, and we Iranians outside Iran are here to show we are with them and they are not alone.” French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the state violence targeting Iranian citizens and reaffirmed his support for essential freedoms.
