/ The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Monday that it will not hesitate to respond to any US attack targeting its territory, the day after the White House did not rule out the possibility of launching a direct strike on Iran.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said during his weekly press conference that his country “will not hesitate to use its capabilities to deliver a response that will make the aggressors regret it,” adding: “Others have already seen this capability and power and will think carefully before doing anything bad.”
Kanaani denounced the airstrikes in Iraq, Yemen and Syria, describing them as “adventurous” and “illegal,” considering that they were carried out within the framework of “a policy of full support” for Israel. He also stressed that Tehran “does not seek to escalate tensions and crises in the region and has never supported tensions and crises.”
The United States launched a series of unilateral American strikes against Iranian-linked targets in Iraq and Syria in response to the killing of three American soldiers in a drone attack on a base in Jordan on January 28.
