After a strike on the consulate in the Syrian capital of Syria, attributed to Israel, the Iranian leadership decided to reduce its military presence on the territory of the Arab Republic. The Iranians withdrew their forces from the southern part of the Syrian Arab Republic, including the provinces of Quneitra and Daraa, which border the Golan Heights. The withdrawal of troops from Damascus is also reported. At the same time, some Iranian troops remain in other parts of the country.

Monitor writes about this.

Iran has denied having combat troops in Syria, saying only military advisers and trainers are there. However, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, there are up to three thousand Iranian troops in the country, supported by tens of thousands of fighters from various countries, including Lebanon, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Let us recall that on April 1, a missile attack was carried out on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, as a result of which seven senior IRGC officials were killed. Tehran blamed Israel for the attack. However, the Jewish state has not officially claimed responsibility for the strike.

The Iranians responded to the attack on the consulate in the Syrian capital with a massive attack on Israel. Iran fired hundreds of missiles and UAVs across the country, but almost all of the targets were intercepted by IDF and allied forces.

Israel, in turn, launched several drones at Iran, demonstrating to Tehran its ability to penetrate the Islamic State’s air defenses.

Earlier, Kursor wrote that the media reported on Sinvar’s ambitious plans, which were thwarted by Israel.
