The Supreme Advisor to the Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei stated on Sunday that the Americans overthrew our enemies in the East and the West in two military operations, noting that this benefited Iran. However, he criticized the United States for committing numerous atrocities in Iraq and Afghanistan during these operations.
Iranian media quoted Major General Seyyed Yahya Rahim Safavi during a march on 22 Bahman (February 11, 2024) in the city of Yazd, Iran, as saying, “Today, almost all global analysts declare that the architecture of the global power system is moving towards multi-power, and that the Asian or Eurasian power consisting of China, Russia, India, and Iran is moving to form a new power higher than the American power.”
Safavi explained that US officials had officially announced their intention to create a “greater Middle East” and launched military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan for this purpose. However, after two decades of mass slaughter by the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq, they failed to achieve their goals.
Safavi emphasized that the Americans overthrew our enemies in the East and the West in these two operations, but that this benefit was overshadowed by the atrocities committed by the United States in those countries.
