The Revolutionary Guards took responsibility for the attack. They also claimed that “we hit the headquarters of the Mossad”. Shortly after, American officials told “Reuters” that “no American installations were damaged as a result of the attacks.”
American officials told Reuters “No American facilities were affected by the missile strike in Erbil.”

The White House official stated that the purpose of the attacks was to damage specific military capabilities of the Houthis so that they could not continue attacks against vessels in the Red Sea. “We have no desire to escalate the situation in the region. This was a significant action. We expect that it will reduce the ability of the Houthis, but we will not be surprised if there is a reaction on their part,” the White House official said.
