Iran’s missile attack on Pakistan. Iranian state media reported that the attack targeted two bases of the Baluchi militant group Jaish al-Adel. Pakistani officials said two children were killed and three others were injured in the attack. The new developments come after Iran’s paramilitary elite Revolutionary Guards carried out missile attacks in Iraq and Syria.

Earlier, Jaish al-Adal has carried out attacks on Iranian security forces along the Pakistani border. Iranian state media reported that two strongholds of the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group, also known as Jaish al-Dhulm, were destroyed in Pakistan’s Kauh-Sabz (Green Mountain) area in southwestern Balochistan province.

Pakistan has strongly condemned the unprovoked airspace violation and intra-territorial attack. Iran has also been warned of dire consequences.

Experts point out that in the context of Israel’s strong and brutal attacks in Gaza, new attacks are more likely to lead to a wider regional conflict.

“It is even more worrisome that this illegal act took place despite the existence of several channels of communication between Pakistan and Iran,” Pakistan’s foreign ministry said. A senior official of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been summoned and warned that Pakistan will be fully responsible for the consequences of the attack, which has registered a strong protest. Authorities have also stated that the condition of three women who were injured in the attack is critical.

Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) is a separatist terrorist group founded in 2012 that operates mainly in southeastern Iran. The goal of the group is the independence of Sistan and Baluchistan province. The group has claimed responsibility for attacks against Iran in the past. Last month, Jaish al-Adl was accused of attacking police stations in the Iranian provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan, killing 11 Iranian police officers.
