/ Today, Friday, Iraq achieved a Paralympic gold medal in the World Weightlifting Championship currently underway in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

Jabbar Tarish, Financial Secretary of the Iraqi Paralympic Weightlifting Federation, told Agency, “The weightlifter, Mustafa Salman Radi, won the golden medal by lifting 200 kilograms with a weight of 59 kilograms, to be crowned first in the world.”

He added, “The Iraqi weightlifter, Mustafa, broke the record of the previous Chinese weightlifter, who had lifted 196 kilograms in the last world championship.”

Tarish praised “the role of the President of the Iraqi Paralympic Committee, who provided all the needs of the lifters during participation, overcame all their difficulties, and planned to achieve achievement, especially since he is one of the most prominent champions of the game.”

The Iraqi Paralympic weightlifter, Rasool Kazem, won the gold medal, which was the first medal for Iraq in the tournament, and the weightlifter, Muslim Aqeel, won the bronze medal in the ongoing World Cup in Weightlifting in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, which qualifies for the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
