The highly anticipated six-part series promises a “faithful, classic” adaptation of the beloved novel, aiming to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
The streaming giant has been steadily revealing its cast list, generating significant buzz among literary and television enthusiasts. McCormack, known for his role in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, will portray the charming Mr. Bingley, while Shaw, celebrated for her work in Killing Eve, is set to embody the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourg.
These additions join previously announced stars Emma Corrin (Nosferatu), who will take on the role of Elizabeth Bennet, and Jack Lowden (Slow Horses) as the proud Mr. Darcy. Olivia Colman, the Oscar-winning actress from The Favourite, will portray Mrs. Bennet, Elizabeth’s mother.
Expanding the Bennet Family and Beyond
The production has also unveiled the actors filling out the remaining key roles within the Bennet household and the surrounding social circles. Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) will play Mr. Bennet, while Freya Mavor (Industry) is cast as Jane Bennet. Rising star Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) will portray Lydia Bennet, with newcomers Hollie Avery and Hopey Parish making their screen debuts as Kitty and Mary Bennet, respectively.
Further enriching the cast are Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) as the pompous Mr. Collins, Louis Partridge (House of Guinness) as the roguish Mr. Wickham, and Siena Kelly (Black Mirror) as the snobbish Caroline Bingley.
