The Solo 4, on the other hand, are already available: Buyers can choose from three different colors and receive headband headphones with 3D audio, which are much lighter than the comparable AirPods Max. Now images are emerging that point to a revival of a Beats product that was discontinued last year point out: The Pill+ should return to store shelves soon.
Celebrities with new Beats speakers
The American basketball player LeBron James plays in the NBA professional league and is therefore very famous. A video recently published on Instagram shows the athlete with an object in his hand that was probably not chosen by chance: a Bluetooth speaker, which is reminiscent of the Pill+, dangles at the end of the lanyard. The position of the Beats logo and the ribbon indicate that an as yet unannounced series of Bluetooth speakers is appearing here. The marketing strategy seems to be continuing, as Formula 1 racing driver Daniel Ricciardo has now been “spotted” in a photo with the Beats box – the manufacturer’s logo is of course clearly visible. In this case too, the carrying strap indicates a new model of the Pill.
Replacement for the Pill+, which will be discontinued in 2022
In January 2022, Beats discontinued the Pill+, and since then the company’s portable speaker has been rather quiet – with one exception: a limited edition of the product followed in March 2022 in collaboration with the fashion label Stüssy (see here). When the new model will come onto the market is unknown. Nothing is known about the technical specifications either, but the device is likely to use a current Bluetooth version. It is also likely that Lightning will be eliminated: the connection will probably have to give way to USB-C.
