Thiruvananthapuram: In a scathing attack on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, KPCC president K Sudhakaran MP accused him of turning into a total fascist. Sudhakaran cited the praises pouring in about Vijayan as proof of this transformation, stating that even the party secretary and ministers are now competing to praise the Chief Minister.
Sudhakaran also criticized the CPM, stating that the party has fallen into a pitiful state without the power to correct it. He referenced the definition of fascism by Italian novelist Umberto Eco, which exalts the masculinity of the ruler, and claimed that the new vocabularies being used to praise Vijayan are indicative of this.
The KPCC president also mocked the epithets used to describe Vijayan, such as ‘sun sprouting from soil’ and ‘Malayali natin mannan’, stating that Congress workers who showed black flags to Vijayan were beaten up and lucky not to be burnt.
Furthermore, Sudhakaran accused the CPM of concentrating on praise singers in the district during Pinarayi Vijayan’s time, claiming that there was an attempt to spread fascism throughout Kerala, especially in the party villages of Kannur where opponents were allegedly killed.
The accusations made by K Sudhakaran have sparked controversy and drawn attention to the political climate in Kerala. The growing tension between the Congress and the CPM further complicates the already complex political landscape in the state.
