Isla Mujeres burst with vibrant energy as the government,led by Municipal President Atenea Gómez Ricalde,successfully hosted the “Soy Isla Mujeres 2026” carnival Parade in Ciudad Mujeres. The afternoon event drew hundreds of families from the Continental Zone, celebrating island identity through a dazzling display of tradition and community spirit.
The parade kicked off on Gastón Alegre Avenue, where colorful contingents moved forward to emphasize the importance of peaceful coexistence and strengthening community bonds through shared culture and traditions.
More than 20 floats participated in the parade, each showcasing remarkable inspiration, creativity, and a kaleidoscope of color. The atmosphere crackled with energy, reflecting the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone involved in bringing the carnival to life.

Highlights included the participation of the Children’s Kings, spreading thier infectious enthusiasm, the float of the Lady of Joy, and the float of the Kings of the Elderly, which received a special ovation from the crowd. The remaining troupes added to the festive spirit with vibrant choreography, music, and costumes that celebrated the diversity of Isla Mujeres.
