Icope Program Expands Senior Wellness Screenings Across France
A new initiative focused on preventative healthcare is bringing vital wellness screenings to independent seniors across France. The Icope program, designed for individuals aged 60 and over, centers on the early detection of potential health concerns to maintain autonomy and quality of life.
The program utilizes a comprehensive approach, screening for six key functions: sight, hearing, memory, mobility, psychological state, and nutrition. This holistic assessment aims to identify and address issues before they escalate, empowering seniors to live independently for longer.
A recent screening day, held in late November at the new premises of the territorial professional health community (CPTS) at 7 rue Ampère in Isle-Jourdain, saw 16 individuals meet with a team of healthcare professionals. The team included physiotherapists Manon Janmlin and Olivier Arani, and nurse Carole Daignan. This event followed a successful launch in Samatan on November 21.
“I am deploying the Icope system throughout the territory,” stated a project manager at the CPTS. “The day at Isle-Jourdain went very positively. Thanks to the dynamic fair organized by the community of municipalities, we welcomed new people.” The initial screenings were spurred by a well-attended senior fair at the Campanaire museum, which facilitated valuable dialogue between healthcare providers and potential participants.
The Icope assessments are designed to be thorough, incorporating evaluations from a nurse, physiotherapist, psychologist, and occupational therapist. This multidisciplinary approach ensures a complete understanding of each individual’s health status.
Future sessions are scheduled to take place in Gimont and Mauvezin. Individuals interested in participating can register by contacting Manuelle at 06 18 17 40 17. This expansion of the Icope program represents a significant step towards proactive senior healthcare and underscores the importance of early intervention in maintaining independence and well-being.
